Envy 13 is the smallest of the Envy family of laptops. The Envy line consists of premium luxury notebook systems that are stylish in appearance and are good with mobile performance. They are well suited for consumers that are frequently on the go, outside the conventional work environment. Because this is such a portable computing solution, it is recommended for students and for small business users. As the name hints, the Envy 13 comes with a 13" widescreen display. This display supports high-definition content. Resolution maxes out at 1366 x 768 which is standard among comparable laptop displays. To help with creating a laptop system with such a small form factor, HP has outfitted the Envy 13 with special Intel Core 2 Duo low voltage processors. This helps with minimizing heat and reducing power consumption, thus enhancing performance and increasing battery life. Carrying the Envy 13 around is extremely easy and convenient to do. The starting weight for the Envy 13 is 3.68 lbs. The laptop measures 0.8 inches thin. Both are more than manageable figures, better than most ultraportable notebook measurements. A durable magnesium alloy casing covers and protects the Envy 13. On the lid of the system is a stylish metal etched design. One note worth mentioning is that the Envy 13 does not come with an optical drive. This makes sense, given the lightness and the thinness of the system. The Envy 13's primary focus is on portability.
