HP's Envy line is a family of premium laptops. These are performance systems that have been engineered with innovative techniques and technologies. Envy notebooks are designed to be both luxurious and portable. The first thing one will probably notice about the Envy 14 is its sleek appearance. It compares with no other laptops out in the market today. The Envy 14 has a metallic enclosure and has a laser-etched aluminum design on its lid. The laptop is also has a surprisingly thin profile. It measures just a little over 1 inch thin. As the name suggests, this Envy model has a 14.5" display that is LED backlit. Users will find that this display has a super sharp resolution at 1600 x 900, which is higher than typical notebooks resolutions found in displays this size. Users for the Envy 14 will have at their disposal performance components which include a selection of Intel Core Series processors, at minimum 4GB DDR3 memory, 500GB (7200rpm) HDD and a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics controller. Memory and hard drive configurations can obviously be customized if one chooses to go with a configurable model. Other standard features for the Envy 14 include a slot loading DVD burner, a full-size backlit keyboard and premium Beats Audio. There is no option for a Blu-ray Disc player. Other interesting and useful component amenities include an HDMI port and a built-in 2-in-1 memory card reader. Envy 14 weighs 5.2 lbs.
